Position Title: QA Automation Tester

Work Location: On-site in Bengaluru, India     

Position Summary: 

The QA Automation Tester plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This position involves designing and implementing automated testing procedures to identify and address software issues efficiently. The role requires collaboration with Developers and Project Managers to identify key features and ensure thorough testing. Key responsibilities include developing structured test plans and test cases, tracking and resolving software bugs, and investigating the root causes of non-conforming software behaviors. The QA Automation Tester will also contribute to designing and maintaining software databases to support the testing process. This position demands strong attention to detail, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a solid technical background to enhance and streamline all testing activities effectively. The ideal candidate will help ensure that the software meets quality standards and supports seamless installations and user experiences. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned: 

1. Developing and Performing test cases.  
2. Developing test deliverables like test plans, test cases, test data, and traceability matrix.  
3. Developing integration tests for various business scenarios.  
4. Ensure that defects are correctly captured, documented, reviewed, prioritized, and triaged.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:  

4+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role. Strong hands-on experience in Cypress/playwright is a must. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience with API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger.IO, JMeter, etc. Hands-on experience with Database testing. Good to have exposure to automation using Selenium /Serenity /Rest Assured, etc. Must have a working knowledge of databases, especially with SELECT statements. Knowledge of DevOps processes and tools is an added advantage. Good to have experience with CICD integrations.   

Language Ability:  

Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documents, test plans, and defect reports. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Developers, Project Managers, and QA personnel. 

Math Ability:  

Strong numerical aptitude for analyzing testing metrics and interpreting data trends. Familiarity with algorithms, logic-based problem solving, and statistical methods to validate software performance and identify inconsistencies. 

Reasoning Ability:  

Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot complex software issues and root causes. Ability to prioritize tasks, handle ambiguity, and make sound decisions in fast-paced development environments. Logical thinking to design comprehensive test cases that cover various business scenarios and edge cases. 

Computer Skills:  

Proficient in using automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Rest Assured. 

Advanced skills in API testing with tools like Postman, Swagger.IO, or JMeter. Hands-on experience with database querying and validation using SQL, particularly SELECT statements. Familiarity with DevOps processes, CICD tools, and integrations is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of software development methodologies and test management platforms.
