Position Title: QA Manager           

Department: Development/Engineering 

Reports To: CEO                      

Work Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

 

Position Summary: 

The QA Manager provides strategic direction, leads, plans, directs, and coordinates activities regarding quality performance, systems, and processes. The QA Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. The QA Manager will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving defects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and continuously improving testing methodologies.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned: 

  1. QA Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with our company goals 
  2. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of QA engineers 
  3. Process Improvement: Continually assess and enhance QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to maximize efficiency and effectiveness 
  4. QA Testing: Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of QA tests including manual and automated testing to identify defects and areas for improvement 
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure our products meet all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications 
  6. Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks and vulnerabilities in our products 
  7. Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor and communicate to the leadership team QA performance 
  8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as engineering, product management, and customer support to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, or 2 years of equivalent experience required. 5+ of experience is required as a software tester. At Least 3 years of experience in leading testing teams related to cloud platforms and application development. Experience with JMeter. Experience in Database testing and API testing. Hands-on experience in automation Dot Net/Python with selenium is required. Hands-on experience in auditing software processes followed by a project. Hands-on experience in test tracking tools and defect tracking tools like JIRA is required. Experience in planning strategies and should have hands-on experience generating QA reports. Experience in Security, Compliance, and Performance testing. 

Language Ability:  

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence. Ability to effectively converse and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Math Ability:  

Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide on all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percents. 

Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret feedback from non-skilled technical system users to uncover the source of problems and persistence to efficiently provide solutions. Extreme attention to detail is required to ensure proper documentation of facts. Ability to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service complaints, maintaining the security of data, competing priorities of high significance to the successful function of the department. 

Computer Skills:  

A significant comfort level in using accounting software and a variety of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office products, web browsers, and CRM tools.

  6. Ensure Effective People Management: Execute consistent and effective practices in recruiting, onboarding, professional development, succession planning, performance management, and retention.  
  7. Promote Positive Work Environment: Cultivate a positive work environment by fostering collaboration, communication, and teamwork among team members. Address departmental issues, resolve urgent matters, and lead efforts in conflict resolution. 

ISM and Privacy Statement: 

  1. Data Handling in Product Development: Ensure that products are developed with privacy by design, incorporating necessary data protections from the beginning. 
  2. Data Minimization: Limit data collection to what is necessary for product functionality and ensure proper anonymization or pseudonymization of personal data where possible. 
  3. Privacy Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments related to data privacy and security for new product features or business solutions.
